In 1996, Cindy went through a powerful spiritual awakening. Not long afterwards, Angel Harmony appeared to Cindy with a joyful message, which led her to dedicate her life to helping people by combining all her talents and abilities. Cindy Lowy Fess was born and raised in the "heart of the Bluegrass," Winchester, KY, Cindy moved to Louisville in 1981. “I have been an artist as long as I can remember,” says Cindy Lowy Fess, a former public school art teacher, who enjoys exploring many avenues of artistic expression. “From creating art and jewelry for my Harmony Collection, to designing covers for Michael’s albums, and occasionally participating in local public art projects, I enjoy using my creativity in every aspect of my work.”
This creative spirit unleashes the artist’s muse in multiple media. Also an accomplished writer and speaker, Fess’ talents stem from family roots. The works of her famous father, the late Homer C. Ledford, a bluegrass and folk musician, legendary dulcimer maker and inventor of musical instruments, are part of a special exhibit at the Smithsonian Institution.
Following his path, Cindy Lowy Fess designed 4 life-size fiberglass horses in both Gallopalooza projects, Louisville, Kentucky's civic pride projects that featured brightly painted, life-size horses; authored a self-help book, Harmony and Me; and designed handcrafted jewelry for thousands of satisfied customers. Her art has graced the covers of numerous publications, as well as public institutions and private business and homes.
Cindy is a former public school art teacher (Kentucky and Connecticut), is a professional jeweler since 1981 and has served on the board of the Kentucky Guild of Artists and Craftsmen, as well as the Kentucky Craft Marketing Program Advisory Committee. She is a juried member of several Kentucky art guilds, including the Kentucky Guild of Artists and Craftsmen. and is a Kentucky Crafted Emeritus honoree and granted lifetime honorary juried participant status by the Kentucky Craft Marketing, (KCM) a program of the Kentucky Arts Council.
